Wow! I need more stars - five aren't enough.

Kowal completes her Lady Astronaut saga with the first human journey to Mars, in her alt-history of human spaceflight. She weave together a fabulous mix of issues - from race relations to climate denial to ... just read it - I can't begin to describe the blend she has skillfully created here.

I certainly hope this is not the end of this saga - but this is a fine and fitting capstone to the duology!

Guinan! A nice backstory for Guinan, and adventure for young Picard. Complicated and good multi-threaded story as Friedman fills in Picard's history as a young captain.
