Aftermath: Empire's End by Chuck Wendig
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
More fun with Norra and her crew!
As the new canon edges out the EU, this is a good entry. I particularly like how Jar Jar is - not sure if redeemed is the right word, but it will do. A very minor point but a good one.
Now we know some more backstory on Jakku, and have some angles on the disarray of the New Republic and Resistance by the time of the Force Awakens.
It has to be tough work, trying to weave in so many details, using the classic characters *and* develop your own (including the now-film-canon Snap Wexley), and Wendig does a good job. Lots of nods to known details - and I think, not a few nods to the EU.
Queued up next: Thrawn. (First I have to finish my re-read of the Thrawn trilogy....
