There are no Kirks or Picards - no characters (maybe one or two) who aer untouchable. That means the books can surprise you with unexpected changes and developments. Especially good is how tlhIngan Hol is used, and used well, through the books. They all include a glossary in the back with proper spelling, notes and sources for all vocabulary. Great!
