Not sure what I expected - but this was good - a decent challenge to the mindset that "science erases God." The book is no "god of the gaps" apologetic, nor any kind of triumphal entry from any particular faith. Hagerty shares her honest experiences in the spiritual realm, and takes us with as she explores the way science and scientists are considering the empirical evidence for and impact of the spirit. On top of all that, this thoughtful book challenged me to work for a more disciplined devotional life.

Googled: The End of the World as We Know It by Ken Auletta

We live in an age when much of our world is being googled - businesses and institutions of higher learning are turning to Google to take over their email systems - even Yale! Some ask "...we wonder what Google is getting in return for their generosity" ... and with Auletta's book you get an answer. It's not so simple as outright mercenary acquisition... there is a lot of lofty idealism along with a company that seems to be in the business of printing money. There is also a lot of naivete - and outright blindness to consequences. Auletta does a great job of detailing the history of Google - recommended!
