Rebellion of Stars by Michael Wallace

Rebellion of Stars (Starship Blackbeard Book 4)Rebellion of Stars by Michael  Wallace
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A thrilling conclusion, with just the right number of loose ends!

Wallace brings the series to a great conclusion, with satisfactory outcomes for one and all... and the promise of another trilogy with Captain Drake. I hope the next series will be paired up with Audible - the combination was excellent!

Grave Surprise by Charlaine Harris

Grave Surprise (Harper Connelly, #2)Grave Surprise by Charlaine Harris
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Fun, fast, spooky read.

Charlaine Harris is always finding interesting stories to tell, and she's got a great way to build an improbably talented hero into a interesting and complex character. As with her other series - these are tough to put down!

Grave Sight by Charlaine Harris

Grave Sight (Harper Connelly, #1)Grave Sight by Charlaine Harris
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Can't put down.

Lots of "mysteries that work" (at least me) orbit the question of jurisdiction - that is, whose business is this investigation. From Sherlock Holmes, the "private" detective, to Hillerman's Navajo stories (Federal crime? Navajo? State) - stories where who "owns the problem" is muddy, make for good stories, and this is another example.

As a private, uncredentialed, body finder, Harper has to balance quite a lot of inputs - it makes for a great story - and a nice series.
