Great visit across time with Captain Kirk!

Bennett does an excellent job weaving all sorts of canon together in an account of Captain Kirk's early career. By skipping back and forth in Kirk's career, he portrays the evolution of Kirk's style. Very nicely done - it was like a whole season of Star Trek in one novel!
