Dead Wake: The Last Crossing of the Lusitania by Erik Larson
Dead Wake: The Last Crossing of the Lusitania by Erik Larson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Riveting and charming and moving!
Not likely I'll ever go on a cruise, but this journey - on the Lusitania's last voyage - is vivid and detailed, certainly giving a deep understanding of the life on board such a luxury palace. Larson skillfully weaves together the details of shipboard life, and the doom waiting for the ship, as well as the machinations of British intelligence who silently watched the specter stalking the liner.
