Year-Round Indoor Salad Gardening by Peter Burke

Year-Round Indoor Salad Gardening: How to Grow Nutrient-Dense, Soil-Sprouted Greens in Less Than 10 DaysYear-Round Indoor Salad Gardening: How to Grow Nutrient-Dense, Soil-Sprouted Greens in Less Than 10 Days by Peter Burke
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Good, practical advice on growing indoors year 'round!

We attended a library class (with materials!) based on this book - simple and inspirational, and in the dead of winter, a heart-warming taste of spring!

The book has more than enough information to get you started; my main criticism would be that it spends an awful lot of time telling you why *this* method is better than other options. I appreciate that Burke has found this method to be superior - but it seemed distracting anddoesn't advance the how-to.

Eternity's End (Star Rigger, #6)Eternity's End by Jeffrey A. Carver
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I've really been enjoying the Star Rigger Universe since picking up a bargain priced Dragons in the Stars, and this was no exception. Carver's hallucinatory almost-fantasy realm of the "Flux" through which ships ply faster than light travel is, to the best of my knowledge, a unique setting for science fiction. I appreciate too, that even though there are battles and interplanetary intrigue, these are not yet another MilSF battleship saga.

The twists and turns for Legroeder - fugitive from pirates, pariah, explorer - along with the planet bound intrigue for his lawyer and her minions, keeps the story moving and surprising. I've already queued up more of Carver's books in my Kindle (both Star Rigger 'verse and others).
