Nice balance between science and fiction.

Fazekas does a great job interlacing material from the whole range of Trek history with a wealth of astronomy. Along the way he points out all the ways we have (or haven't) achieved Trek technology.

Even better, amid the wealth of beautiful astronomical images, there are many tutorials on how to discover the wonders of the stars, with careful instruction on how, when and where to look into the glories of the night sky.

The Concrete Blonde by Michael Connelly

The Concrete Blonde (Harry Bosch, #3)The Concrete Blonde by Michael Connelly
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

INTENSE.

A very good read - I pretty much burned through it in a day. A very intense mystery/courtroom drama with Bosch facing a civil trial over his shooting of a serial murderer. The trial begins, and evidence arises that maybe the man shot *wasn't* the perp - or wasn't *alone*.

Fast paced, good action, very gritty. Now I need lighter fare as a chaser - on to "Fluency" a first-contact SF story.....
