Life Debt by Chuck Wendig
Life Debt by Chuck Wendig
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
More blanks filled in for the Galaxy Far, Far Away.....
Wendig does a nice job moving the story of Star Wars from "Return of the Jedi" toward the far off "Force Awakens," making connections and setting the background for the world we saw in Episode VII. Yes, it smashes the history of the "Legends" left and right, but he's still plugged into the details and background of the GFFA that fans know and love.
I *listened* to this one (I read Wendig's first one in print) and really enjoyed (as always) Marc Thompson's vocal work. Honed over the years (his Thrawn trilogy is excellent) Thompson has the ability to present a full cast audio experience with only one voice - it's amazing and turns the book into a virtual movie - highly, highly recommended.... in fact, I just bumped my rating of the book (four stars) up to five stars when I reflected on the fantastic work Thompson did.
